Building Respect and Kindness: Bullying Prevention Presentations in Caro, MI
Over two inspiring days in Caro, Michigan, we had the opportunity to deliver a series of bullying prevention presentations for schools that reached every age group — from elementary through high school — as well as an evening parent presentation designed to bring families together around these vital lessons.
These evidence-based bullying prevention presentations were both fun and meaningful, blending education, interaction, and illusion to keep students fully engaged while driving home the importance of empathy, respect, and responsible behavior — both in person and online.
Elementary School Focus: Recognizing and Managing Emotions
At the elementary level, our bullying prevention assemblies in Michigan schools centered on helping young students recognize and manage their emotions. They also learned what was and was not bullying, and how to respond if they or someone they know is being targeted by bullying. Using magic, storytelling, and interactive demonstrations, students learned that kindness and inclusion are powerful tools in making their school a safe and welcoming place for everyone.
Middle and High School Focus: Respect, Conflict Resolution, and Digital Responsibility
For middle and high school students, the message built upon those same foundations, exploring real-world situations they face daily — from social media conflicts to peer pressure. We focused on how to have respectful conversations (not arguments) with people who hold different opinions, and introduced effective conflict resolution and emotional control techniques. Students also saw firsthand the emotional and legal dangers of bullying and cyberbullying — and, more importantly, what they can do to stop it.
Parent Education Night: Continuing the Conversation at Home
To ensure lasting impact, parents received a special bullying prevention presentation in the evening. They experienced the same interactive format their children loved while gaining additional insights into how to talk about bullying at home, reinforce empathy, and guide digital citizenship.
Although the Caro parent presentation recording had audio issues, a recorded parent night from another event covering the same content is available below.
