I recently spent a week at Salesian High School in New Rochelle, New York, delivering my vaping awareness program to students and parents.
Throughout the school day, students attended vaping prevention assemblies where I used magic, illusions, and storytelling to pull back the curtain on how the vaping industry works, who is behind it, why teenagers are its main target, and what health risks come with vaping.
I also talked about the most common reasons teens start vaping, so students could make informed choices for themselves instead of just being told what to do.
Vaping Awareness Presentation for Parents
In the evening, I held a separate session for parents. The goal was to help them recognize the signs that their child may be vaping, prevent their child from starting, and respond effectively if they do find out their child is vaping.
Parents left with practical insights and strategies they could use at home right away.

Vaping Awareness Resources for Parents
These guides cover the topics parents ask about most after a vaping presentation.
New York Resources on Vaping Prevention
Families in New York have additional support through the state.
The New York State Office of Addiction Services and Supports (OASAS) shares prevention resources for families and schools, the New York State Smokers' Quitline offers free help quitting, and the New York State Education and Health Departments have issued guidance to schools on addressing youth vaping.
I encourage every family to stay informed and keep supporting students in making healthy choices.
If you have questions or need more resources, please contact the school. Together, we can work toward a vape-free future for teens.
